Favorite Flickr Photo of the Day

For my favorite flickr photo of the day, I chose something that stood out to me for the season. Since it is October when fall and harvest is upon most of us, I figured it was fitting.

Attack of the Pumpkin Army

I like the pattern and color. The grooves in each pumpkin show up excellently as well.
The photo was taken by photographer Steve Grundy and uploaded to flickr.com. You can visit the photo on his Flickr photostream by clicking here. Thanks Steve for letting me share your photograph! :)

Enjoy, and please comment.

Today’s Favorite Flickr Photo of the Day

Damselfly 2 - Macro

This photo was taken by David Gn Photography and uploaded to flickr.com. The colors, detail, and sheer awesomeness of this photo were just too good to pass up. It captured my eye and attention. It’s an amazing shot. That little guy is pretty darn cute too. Click here to visit the original site where I got the photo. Also, to visit his photostream on Flickr click here.

Sorry this is my only blog post. Typically I’ll blog of other photography related things, but this was all I could get to today. I think it’s still an awesome post though, don’t you? Definitely a great photo.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for my next Favorite Flickr Photo!

More High Speed

Hey guys!

So yesterday I kinda went off on a random tangent instead of staying on course with my high-speed photography posts. So today I thought I’d make it up to you and share a bit more on the high speed topic.

I’ve done a bit more browsing on the topic, and it was quite discouraging here for a little while. So many blogs and tutorials make high speed photography out to be so complex. I did find a decent explanation that is not so complex, and I actually recommend this site because I’ve gotten quite a bit out of reading their photography tips and tutorials (I even follow them on Twitter).

It’s a really short tutorial, so it doesn’t take up a lot of your time (unless you click on a few links and go try to figure out more info on the topic as I typically do).

The tutorial states that what you’ll need for taking high speed photography is an External Flash and a Flash Trigger. Of course you’ll need a camera as well, but that’s a given. Only 2 extra pieces of equipment though? I was pretty stoked, especially after reading a few other tutorials that had 6+ things you “HAD” to have.

Anyway, check it out for yourselves – Here! At the Digital Photography School website.

Also, since I got off of topic yesterday. Here is a do-it-yourself high speed photography resource: http://www.hiviz.com/
They have products, activities, tools, etc. Lots of things that will be helpful in getting you started with high speed photography.

That’s all for now. I’m sure I’ll find more high speed photography info to blog soon, so stay tuned.

Be sure to leave a comment and feedback to let me know what you think and if these resources were helpful to you.

Blessings,
Britt <><
