So I almost did not post my favorite flickr photo of the day. It’s a good thing I came across this one when I did. It is excellent. It is actually taken by one of the photographers I have already posted. It was just too good of a shot to not share though. I was pretty excited when I saw this photographer’s set of hummingbirds. Those are one of my favorite birds! Plus, they always seem so difficult to catch in a good photograph because they are so quick. This one is a really swell shot of a hummingbird! The focus is great, and the exposure is too! No distractions in the background because it is faded nicely. All around, to me, it’s just awesome. I love hummingbirds!

It’s really awesome to have the opportunity to view some incredible photos, and share them.  The diversity of the photography on there is awesome, and it’s just really cool to see all the different landscapes, nature, people, objects, and everything people can think to photograph.

I just find this photo incredible. The light rays, colors, and lines draw you in… you feel like part of the picture. It’s a unique shot, and definitely a fave.

It’s definitely worth a view though.  I liked it because of it’s unique color and lighting.  Most “epic” photos of landscapes and mountains are really bright and the sky is overly perfect, but this photographer captured such grandiose scenery in a different way than the majority (so of course, I enjoy something less” cookie-cutter”).   The clouds/fog are amazing!

I’ve decided to create a “Favorite Flickr Photo of the Day”.  The idea is that I will view and search through photos on Flickr, photos taken by people from all walks of life and all different levels of photography – then choose one as my personal favorite and post it to this blog each day.

I’m not sure if it’s against the rules of blogging to share other people’s photography – so the following is just a disclaimer.

This was such a unique and detailed shot, and it was quite refreshing to see after browsing through so many photos. The brilliance of the color and abstract composition just make it a really awesome photo, so I definitely had to share it as my favorite photo of the day. Notice how this photo really captures how huge the trees are! There really wasn’t any other way to take this picture, because I would have lost how awesome the trees are if I’d have taken it any other way.

This one is really cool. Just the building and the sky. It just seems to have add a nice effect and allows the eye to focus on the building rather than anything else that may have been distracting.

That’s just one of my ways to take more creative shots, rather than just a straight forward photo. Instead I try to find the best way to get underneath something or to get more sky, or just change my angle a bit. Here’s an example to show you the difference in a straight on shot, and a more creative angle…

This is the same statue in both pictures…but the second photo just gives a totally different impression for the viewer. It’s a bit more impressive, and gives the photo a cool effect.
