Under Construction

This blog is going to be under construction over the next few weeks.  I’m hoping to change the look a little bit, possibly add a photos page so that any of my own personal photography can be easier to locate and view, and a few other new things that I’m hoping everyone can enjoy.  I’m really excited about the photo gallery page, and I’m hoping this idea will become reality.  It just makes things a whole lot easier when there’s a page dedicated only to pictures.  The other things should be interesting as well.  So if you’ll bear with me for a little while and be patient, I should hopefully have these new things up soon.

For now, I will leave you with a quote by one of my favorite landscape photographers:

In my mind’s eye, I visualize how a particular . . . sight and feeling will appear on a print. If it excites me, there is a good chance it will make a good photograph. It is an intuitive sense, an ability that comes from a lot of practice. -Ansel Adams

Summer Time

Boy it has been a VERY long time since I’ve blogged.  Please forgive me!  Now that summer is almost here, it’s got me in the picture taking mood!  I haven’t taken pictures in quite some time, staying busy with life in general and all that jazz.  However, I’ve decided to stay on top of blogging and to make a few tweaks and changes to brittsphotos.com this summer.  What good am I doing by not blogging about photography when I have a whole website dedicated to this awesome art!?

Okay, I’ll admit, I’ve gotten a little discouraged and un-motivated about taking photos lately.  There just doesn’t seem to be any time to take them!  With summer here though, it’s “re-sparked” by creativity.  Summer time is actually a really great time for taking pictures.  There are plenty of opportunities.  Families on vacations, sunny days, green landscapes, sunrises, sunsets, the opportunities are everywhere.  Sure the landscapes or outdoor scenes may not be as dramatic as during the fall or spring, or even the winter when it snows.  But there are people and laughter, activities and children playing, swimming pools and watermelon, clear blue skies and the 4th of July.  This is making me excited!

While I may not think I have the time to take pictures, the opportunities are there this summer.  I just have to seize them!  You can choose to take the opportunities as well.  Bring your camera everywhere, you never know what moment you can capture.

I’ll be dedicating more time to this blog.  So never fear…you will hear from me again soon! ;)
